The frame alternates panels of purple heart and pine.
The Purple Heart wood, which is imported from Bolivia is an extremely hard wood.
This wood gives the drum an incredibly deep resonance. This is a large heavy drum.
The drum should be played on a stand or by a healer with good hand and arm strength.
